Resume.io is one of the leading platforms for creating professional resumes used by millions of people worldwide. As a Senior Product Designer, I led the homepage redesign process from concept to final delivery. The goal was to refresh the visual language, improve usability, and communicate that Resume.io offers much more than just a resume builder. It is a complete career toolkit that helps users get hired faster and grow their careers.
Challenge & Goals
The previous homepage focused too narrowly on resume creation and did not tell the full story about the broader product ecosystem.
Its layout and visuals felt outdated, and the structure did not effectively guide users toward exploring Resume.io’s additional services.
The redesign aimed to:
Increase homepage engagement and conversions.
Highlight Resume.io’s full range of tools such as Recruiter Match, Job Board, Interview Prep, and Salary Analyzer.
Strengthen brand credibility and create a modern and confident look aligned with users’ career ambitions.
Approach
We restructured the homepage around clarity, trust, and engagement. The new design introduced a dynamic hero section with animated text variations that showed different outcomes such as “This resume builder gets you... hired faster... an interview... a remote job... paid more.”
An interactive slider presented Resume.io’s ecosystem, while redesigned sections for resume templates and key features made the product benefits clearer and easier to understand.
Visual improvements focused on a simplified layout, more whitespace, and a balanced color palette with clean typography.
We also added stronger social proof and clear calls to action. The final design was validated through usability testing and A/B experiments to ensure a positive impact on engagement and conversion.
Results
The new homepage improved user understanding of the brand and elevated the overall perception of Resume.io as a trusted career platform.
Key outcomes:
+32% growth in homepage conversion rate.
Improved conversion rate for the main “Create my resume” CTA.
Higher interaction with secondary tools and feature sections.
A refreshed and cohesive visual identity that represents the brand’s growth and ambition.
As a Senior Product Designer, I was involved in every stage of the process, from defining the goals and UX strategy to final interface design and visual refinements. The project strengthened Resume.io’s brand presence and helped position it as a modern and comprehensive career platform.
